Cookie Policy

Scope

This policy covers cookies, local storage and session storage used by the Absliq website and its store chat widget. A merchant’s own storefront and other apps may use additional technologies described in that merchant’s policy. Storage identifiers can be personal information.

Marketing website

The website stores cookie_notice_dismissed in local storage to remember that you dismissed its notice. It can also store absliq-calendly-cookie-notice-dismissed when you dismiss the scheduling notice. These preference entries have no automatic expiry in the current implementation; they remain until you clear site data or your browser removes them.

The current website does not set the former absliq-pricing-region cookie. It does not currently include advertising or third-party audience analytics trackers. Dismissing the notice records a preference; it is not consent to unrelated tracking.

Store chat session

The chat widget uses absliq_chat_session in first-party local storage and a first-party cookie to associate messages with the same chat. Its value contains a generated session identifier and an expiry timestamp. The session is valid for 30 minutes after creation; it is not a customer name or a complete transcript. The cookie expires after 30 minutes and uses SameSite=Lax and Secure on HTTPS. The local-storage entry has a logical expiry checked by the widget, but the browser may retain the expired entry until it is replaced or you clear site data.

The widget can also store absliq_support_disabled in session storage to remember an unavailable-service state for the browser tab. This ends with the tab’s browsing session. Blocking storage can affect conversation continuity. Clearing browser storage does not delete messages already held by the merchant or Absliq; request deletion through the merchant or support@absliq.com.

Product clicks and merchant consent

When a shopper follows a recommended product link, the Shopify widget sends a product-click event linked to the chat session and recommendation only when Shopify’s Customer Privacy API reports that analytics processing is allowed. The app uses these events for merchant service analytics. This server-side event processing is distinct from advertising cookies and is described in the Privacy Policy.

The Shopify widget checks analytics permission for each product click, using Shopify’s merchant settings, regional requirements and the shopper’s current choice. If permission is denied, unknown or unavailable, it does not send the event. Clicks skipped before permission are not saved for later replay. Changing or withdrawing permission affects subsequent clicks. Merchants must configure their Shopify privacy settings and use Shopify’s consent banner or a compatible consent manager that updates Shopify’s Customer Privacy API. This notice does not itself obtain consent.

Calendly and Shopify

Calendly loads when you choose to open the website’s scheduler. It receives the details you enter for scheduling and may use cookies and similar technologies under its own policy. Review Calendly’s privacy information before continuing. Shopify controls its own admin authentication and platform storage, which are governed by Shopify’s policies.

Managing storage and changes

You can inspect, block or clear cookies and site storage in your browser settings. Preference storage and chat continuity may stop working if blocked. For a merchant storefront, use the store’s privacy choices or contact the merchant. We update this policy when the technologies or purposes change. Questions can be sent to support@absliq.com.
